Recently uninstalled soon-to-be-EOL MS Office 2010 installation I’d been using – and updating monthly via Windows Update (with Microsoft Update box checked) – successfully on a Win7 Pro SP1 box (with paid Win7 ESU license) current through Aug’20 updates.

My questions are these and how do I correct itġ – What is causing the Error Code and how do I get round the probelm? 2 – While this is definitely a CTR, since it is not updating can I install the updates as if Office had been installed using MSI? I am definitely connected when this message appears so it makes no sense and in addition the 2 links included in the message do not respond either. If you think you are connected, you can go online to get more help You can try a Quick Repair while offline, or try an Online Repair again once you’re connected.
Online Repairs need the internet and it looks like you may not be connected. Interstingly enough when I try Online Repair I get the following message I have tried the following 1 – disabling and then enabling updates, 2 – Quick Repair and 3 – Online Repair, all with no success. All office programs open including MS Outlook, however office is not updating and still showing as the orignal version. When installing Office from the DVD on the new installed Win 10 Pro OS I disconnected from the internet and the installation went well. When I initally installed Office 2013 Home and Business on the Win 7 Pro OS I downloaded it and burned it to a DVD and then installed it from the DVD, the idea being to prevent CTR, which didn’t work but eventually proved useful as I didn’t need to worry about it updating and never had any problems. After upgrading I then did a clean install of Win 10. I recently updated my laptop from Win 7 Pro to Win 10 Pro.
